VARIETY OF PROGRAMS FUNDED
More than 40 kids participating in debate. Several hundred kids from four schools attending a Curious George performance at Yakima's beautiful Capitol Theatre. Nearly 20 kids exploring Mt. Rainier, testing soil and learning about science. Overweight children finally having the opportunity to participate fully in PE Class with a larger range of scooters. SkillsUSA competitions inspiring kids in leadership, cabinet making, and building robotics. An outdoor club introducing ASB club members to hiking and exploring the mountains that surround our valley. Additional SAT books to ensure every student had access to new learning material. A Math and Literacy Night at Ridgeview Elementary that engaged an entire school that together hit an outstanding goal of participating in 92,000 math equations. Drama and art opportunities for every child at Garfield Elementary through their Magic School Bus Program. And so many more exciting programs enriching the lives of students, and empowering their teachers to dream.
With your generosity, The Yakima Schools Foundation was able to say yes to 35 grant requests during the 2015-2016 school year. All of these had one thing in common: the school could not afford the program. Thank you for making education a priority in our valley.
